What's new with Cliniko—October 2025

As we come into the final stretch of the year, here’s a summary of some of the recent updates to Cliniko. Patient details have had some big changes—there’s a quicker than ever way to update these digital records using a new feature we’ve added to forms, plus you can now view a history of changes made to a patient’s profile. We’re also welcoming a few new faces to our support team—Lily, Bobbie, and Jordan are now on board—giving us more capacity to answer questions quickly from anyone who works in UK business hours.

Features

• You can now set up your forms so that whenever a patient fills one out, their details in Cliniko will automatically update to reflect any changes! This change saves you time by minimising the need for you to carry across patient data yourself and reduces the risk of errors in your records. It also makes the experience of visiting your clinic smoother for your returning patients, as they won’t have to complete a new form from scratch each time.
• You can now view the details of changes made to a patient’s profile, including the date, time, and user who made the change. This gives your practice enhanced transparency and auditability. It also makes for easier problem solving if there are data entry errors.

Practice management tips

• We recently trialled a behind-the-scenes AI tool to help our customer support team. Rather than making life easier, however, it actually made their jobs considerably more time-consuming. While AI makes a lot of grand promises, in our experience it rarely lives up to them in practice.

Coffee break reads

• When we hired for our customer support team earlier this year, we were astonished by the number of people who used ChatGPT to write their applications (we’re talking thousands). There are many reasons why we think relying on AI here is a bad move—at least if you’re applying to Cliniko—and many better options to impress us!
• We donated to Beyond the Orphanage (BTO) from 2014 until earlier this year. After 17 years in operation and with its projects all in the hands of local communities, the charity wound down. But it leaves a legacy of having helped over 1000 children. We’re genuinely awed by the BTO team and its founder, Geoff Hucker.
• [VIDEO] Sea Shepherd Australia is our main charitable partner, and your subscription fees go towards supporting their mission to protect the world’s oceans and marine life. Rachel gave an overview of how your contributions have helped Sea Shepherd's frontline efforts—from helping refine the Allankay longliner to assisting the Sea Lion Defence Campaign.

Connected app

Allied PROMs makes it easy to digitise your patient reported outcome measures. Send forms to your patients and it’ll sync to their file once completed, cutting the need for manual data entry!

One more thing

Finally, you might have seen that we recently teamed up with Sea Shepherd Australia to launch a t-shirt in honour of Threatened Species Day, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Sea Shepherd and their Sea Lion Defence Campaign.
