2025 is here and we couldn’t be more excited! You can expect to see lots of updates to Cliniko and new features launched in the coming weeks and months—we can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on with you shortly.
But for now, we wanted to take a look back on 2024 (who doesn’t love a recap?). You’ll have seen many improvements to Cliniko across the year, which we’ve summed up below. In short, there have been significant changes to invoice management, SMS communication options, template creation, new reporting tools, and much more! We also added 19 new connected apps (which brings us to a total of 57), giving you more opportunities to extend your use of Cliniko in ways that suit your practice.
It was a big year behind the scenes too. We held our fourth international company get-together—we call these “meetups” and they’re crucial for a fully remote team like ours. It’s always very inspiring for us when we all get to catch up in person. Several new people also joined the Cliniko team: four developers, two operations engineers, and a designer. With these fresh faces on the team, we’ve got more capacity than ever to keep adding to and improving Cliniko.
So, with 2024 behind us, here are all the new features, videos, and articles that we put out—just in case you missed anything the first time around.
New features in 2024
Pre-load multiple billable items and products ahead of time to appear on your invoices automatically, based on appointment type! Say goodbye to adding items like travel time, equipment charges, and service fees manually every single time.
You now have full control of how you manage payments across multiple invoices. You can allocate a payment towards the oldest invoice, the newest, the one you’re working on, or none—the choice is yours!
Create digital templates in seconds from uploaded images, PDFs, or using your camera. No need for a scanner or to create digital forms from scratch anymore!
Are your treatment notes piling up? Staying on top of them is easier than ever with the treatment note completion report. You can check which appointments have finalised notes and which ones are pending, letting you prioritise your admin.
If an appointment slot opens up, you can now quickly find the right patient to fill it. This update to Cliniko lets you filter the waitlist by appointment type, allowing you to match a patient with specific needs to an opening in your bookings.
Adding custom unavailable blocks to your schedule helps you take control of your time off. Whatever you need to do—from catching up on your admin to enjoying your lunch hour—you can lock it into your calendar and personalise it with your own colours and durations.
Communication got an upgrade! SMS message templates make it quick to send one-off messages to your patients and SMS reminders can now be sent up to 9 days in advance, helping to reduce patient no shows.
