Three months into 2021, it was time for another Cliniko & Coffee session! Our founder Joel made himself a strong latte (complete with fancy milk foam art) with some Proud Mary beans before getting into all the questions about Cliniko (and coffee)!

Watch the replay to learn about some upcoming changes that are in the works, as well as learn about existing features.

Cliniko highlights

How soon can I take in-person payments?

This is currently something that we're actively working on. You can already take online payments (where patients pay upfront, at the time of the booking), and Joel is hopeful that Cliniko will have support for in-person payments (where you can take payment when they've come in for their appointment) within a few months. This isn't a guaranteed set timeframe, but this feature is actively being worked on, which means it's going to be available!

Will Cliniko ever integrate with Slack?

This is something we've started work on, but we don't have an ETA on when it would be available. It's part of a larger "notification" feature that we have planned, which will allow you to be notified about specific events that are occurring in your account, such as when someone has sent you a message, a patient has arrived, etc. The work for this is underway, but Joel doesn't quite know when it will be released. We'll certainly let everyone know, though!

Can notes be dictated into Cliniko?

Yes! This isn't a feature of Cliniko itself, but is something you can do from your device if you turn the "voice to text" setting on! Rachel covers how it works over on the Cliniko YouTube channel.

Coffee tip

When making pour-over coffee, pour a small amount of water over the grounds in the filter first, to create a "bloom" (bubbles on top). This helps to release gasses in the coffee, which will improve the flavour!
